Sweater: Vintage
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Is it really fall? Really? Did we have a snowstorm last week or did I somehow imagine it? I don't even know anymore. I left my room this morning in a winter coat and thigh highs and had to strip them off the second I got to class. It is literally shorts and tshirt weather right now. My top half still gets cold, though, so I opted to wear one of my vintage sweaters. I didn't use to like sweaters but I'm really falling in love with them. I love the pixel-y look of the designs like this one. This sweater also really reminds me of My Little Pony, although I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be, but the little speckles look like a cutie mark.
I also had a big test today in my stats class and hoped that I would get a little unicorn magic from my sweater. I'm not really sure if it worked though... but hey, it was worth a shot!
I also didn't notice before taking this picture that I still have a band-aid on. I'm always bumping into things so this isn't really a new thing for me, hah. It's not so much that I'm clumsy so much as I'm not very observant. I swear though, tables and chairs just appear out of nowhere!

Bunny ring: Sweet Surprises
Here's a close up of the unicorn and some of my rings. They're a little hard to see, but one is a bunny and the other is a strawberry tart. I barely ever wear any jewelry or accessories. Hopefully that will change soon though! I'm trying to build up my accessories collection (although then I go and spend my money on sweaters...) so I can make my outfits more interesting.
Edit: The sweater is indeed a My Little Pony sweater! It comes from an old vintage My Little Pony pattern. I would love to be able to get my hands on it someday, whenever I learn how to knit anyway. So many things I need to learn how to do...
you have the best sweaters!!! finding a pony sweater is one of my thrifting dreams.
ReplyDeletethe pony kind of looks like majesty. yes, i bet it is her. just look at this! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/-LG_r4LMlJjk/ThYtaBZ1ZDI/AAAAAAAAAZI/oNzsi50tA78/s1600/8majesty.jpg
OMG it really does!! I thought it was just some MLP look-alike. It's definitely not an official product or anything though, since I found nothing relating to MLP on the sweater. Thanks for the information!
ReplyDeleteOhhhhhmygoodness. That's sweater is absolutely terrific! You paired it really nicely with the skirt!
ReplyDeleteMY LITTLE PONY JUMPER!!!! Ugh-i am so so jealous, putting a MLP jumper on my wish list :o

This reminds me so much of the Lizzie McGuire picture day sweater, minus the annoying (but loveable) pre-teen part :) Very awesome!
ReplyDelete@Amanda: Thanks! The skirt was a bit of an accident actually. It was more of a 'put stuff on until something works' moment haha.
ReplyDelete@Caroline: I hope you can find one someday! Otherwise apparently there is a knitting pattern out there somewhere (I edited the post with a picture). I want to learn how to knit and find that pattern so I can make tons of MLP sweaters!
@Emma: Oh man the picture day sweater. Cutest thing ever.
Thanks for your sweet comment! I couldn't find the comment section on your posts before, but now it seems so obvious. Oops. These colours look awesome. It's as though the pony is prancing around in the flowers on your skirt.
ReplyDelete@Flow Disruption: Sorry about that! I've been having trouble tweaking my theme to make the comments work better (just the other day I turned them off completely by accident!) but I think I managed to get it right now haha. So it's really no fault of yours.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you! That's a really cute way to view this outfit.
Great sweater!
ReplyDeleteThat sweater is amazing, you are so lucky to have something that combines sweaters and unicorns!! Your blog is really cool;) hope the unicorn magic works out for you.

Unicorns my love love love <3333 Aaw your so cute, I´m so following your blog ;>
ReplyDelete@Carla: Thanks! I haven't gotten my grades back on that test yet, but I'm holding out hope that the unicorn magic worked, haha.
ReplyDelete@NJJ: Aw, thank you so much! I'm glad you like my blog =D
I can knit! I should keep an eye out for that pattern and make myself a cute my little pony sweater.
ReplyDeleteIt looks so cute on you Ann!
Omg, I can't even deal with how perfect that MLP sweater is! *_* Gaahhhh I wish I could knit!
ReplyDeleteYou look so. adorable. I'm pretty sure that pony brought some magic into your day though :D
LOVEEEEEE! I actually saw the same one on eBay earlier, and the pattern would explain why. You look adorable *.*
ReplyDelete@jammers: I hope you find the pattern someday! There's also a MLP cardigan floating around out there, as well as another edition of the pony sweater pattern. Any of them would make such a great project. It's just finding the patterns that may be difficult, sigh.
ReplyDelete@Eline: Thank you! And me too, me too. I want to learn how to knit and get to the point where I can make my own patterns. But that would take a while so I'll need some patience haha.
@Born for Joy: If you saw it really recently then this is probably the same sweater! I got it off ebay. But since the pattern exists I'm sure there are a few out there, tucked away in a thrift store somewhere...
I'm assuming that the sweater was hand knit by the original owner then? That's so cool!! :D
ReplyDeleteI really love how you paired it with that floral skirt, this whole outfit is adorable! <3
@Marlena: Yes, I think so! Although it has a cute tag in it that says "made with TLC by Alison" so maybe it's a commissioned piece? Either way it's definitely handmade and adorable. And thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Ann! I know you left me a comment forever ago asking me where I got my Care Bear hat and I decided to just respond here! My mom said she bought it at Wal-Mart (crazy, right?) They had this big display of character hats and CB was one of them. I guess you could try looking there if you're interested in buying one too! ^.^
ReplyDeleteFirstly, great sweater.
ReplyDeleteSecondly... your link in your sidebar for "A WITCH'S STYLE" is out of date. Her new URL is http://awitchsstyle.blogspot.com.
That MLP jumper is so cute ~ I just love novelty jumpers, I'm trying to build up a huge collection (I have a cat one with a little bead necklace and another one with teddies wearing tartan bowties).
ReplyDeleteTrying not to sound stalkerish, but I've pretty much read the entire of your blog and I found it comforting to find that you suffer from the same anxieties I have when outfit posting (awkward poses, not liking to show my face etc.) I really want to post outfit photos (I have in the past, and I reflect on them with a mixture of disdain and wishing I had the same courage I seemed to possess then) ~ but I'm so shy about it. But seeing you post, regardless of your feelings, has made me want to post again ~ so, thank you :) Look forward to seeing more posts!
